Christmas Tree Care
1. Every new Christmas tree needs a fresh cut, which we will do for you before your Christmas Tree leaves the lot.
When you make a fresh cut it helps to get any clogged sap off the end of the trunk and helps the tree drink water a lot easier. We will cut off about a half an inch for you, and we will make sure we cut your tree last that way it hasnt been sitting around through the process of wrapping and or flocking. The longer a Christmas Tree sits without water after it has been cut is the less chance you get of the Christmas tree absorbing as much water as possible when you get home.
2. Buy a good stand for your Christmas Tree that holds up to a gallon or more of water and make sure the stand does not leak. Fill the stand with 1 gallon of just plain water. Make sure to water your Christmas tree daily as your Christmas tree should consume between a quart and a gallon of water per day. Do not let the water level go lower than the end of the butt of the tree, this will allow the sap to clog up and prevent the water from absorbing into the tree. If this does happen another cut will
need to be made on the tree.
3. Use LED lights as they use less power, and are better for the environment. LED lights give of a brighter cleaner light
and will brighten up your Christmas Tree and the room with a beautiful soft glow. Make sure to check for any damage on the line of your lights before putting them on the Christmas tree. Make sure to always turn off your lights when there is no one around.
4. Place your Christmas Tree in a safe place away from any heat sources including: Fire Places, heating vents, wood
stoves, television sets, windows where the sun shines in all day etc. Place the tree in an easy accessible area, it makes it
easier to turn the Christmas Tree lights on and off.
5. Recycle your Christmas tree. We have bags for purchase to dispose of your Christmas tree and put on the curb, or you can usually just set your Christmas tree out with the trash and it will be picked up with your regular trash schedule.
